Dual Pricing in Bulgarian Leva and Euro

  • 1 min read

Since July 21, 2025, VetsWise shows all prices in both Bulgarian leva and euro, in line with the requirements of the law on adopting the euro in Bulgaria. Dual pricing applies to all screens and documents visible to clients, including:

  • Visits and procedures
  • Sales
  • Daily charts
  • Printed documents and receipts

Internal reports and administrative screens that clients never see are not affected by the change.

Why are prices shown in both currencies?

Under the Act on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, all merchants must display prices in both leva and euro, to ensure transparency and protect consumers during the transition period.

The VetsWise team keeps track of all regulatory requirements to make sure the software fully complies with the law.

How is the euro price calculated?

The euro price is calculated at the fixed exchange rate of the Bulgarian National Bank:
1 euro = 1.95583 leva

All amounts are rounded to two decimal places, as the law requires.
